Founded in 1959, the mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to:
"Preserve our county's rich past."
The Society maintains:
- Conger House Museum
- Dublin Store
- Walnut Country School
- Red Brick School
In addition, each year the Society:
- Sponsors an annual dinner meeting with a guest speaker, giving a presentation of local interest.
- Coordinates special projects including workshops and presentations.
- Aids with oral history recordings.
- Preserves papers and memorabilia of the County's history.
- Hosts special exhibits, events and tours.
