Founded in 1959,the mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to:

"Preserve our county's  rich past" 

The society maintains:

• Conger House Museum
• Dublin Store
• Walnut Country School
• Red Brick chool
  

In addition, each year the society:

• Sponsors an annual dinner meeting with a guest speaker, giving a presentation of local interest 

• Coordinates special projects including workshops and presentations

• Aids with oral history recordings

• Preserves papers and memorabilia of the County's history

• Host special exhibits, events and tours
