Founded in 1959, the mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to:

"Preserve our county's rich past." 

The Society maintains:

• Conger House Museum
• Dublin Store
• Walnut Country School
• Red Brick School
  

In addition, each year the Society:

• Sponsors an annual dinner meeting with a guest speaker, giving a presentation of local interest. 

• Coordinates special projects including workshops and presentations.

• Aids with oral history recordings.

• Preserves papers and memorabilia of the County's history.

• Hosts special exhibits, events and tours.
